    How to embed YouTube video to Keynote on Mac OS X

    Recently I am doing a project, and to make my Keynote presentation more vivid I think it will be good if I can embed YouTube video to Keynote on Mac. But when I embed YouTube videos to Keynote I had to quit from Keynote and use the web browser to play the relevant YouTube videos. This interrupted the flow of the keynote presentations and it was a total distraction to me as the wifi hotspot I’m using couldn’t actually stream fast enough for the YouTube videos to play at all.

    What is Keynote?
    Keynote is a presentation software application for Mac OS developed as a part of the iWork productivity suite by Apple Inc. Keynote 5.0.3 was announced on September 28, 2009 and is the most recent version. It adds new themes, transitions and animations, and the ability to control the slideshow with an iPhone or iPod touch through the Keynote Remote application which is available for purchase on the iTunes Store. Keynote supports all QuickTime video formats (including MPEG-2 and DV) in slideshows.

    How to embed YouTube video to Keynote on Mac?

    To be able to embed YouTube video to Keynote we need to use a third party software to convert the YouTube videos to the format that we need for the Keynote presentation. In this simple tutorial I am going to outline how to insert YouTube video to Keynote presentation with iFunia YouTube Converter for Mac.

    Step 1.     If you just need to copy a DVD to an image file, otherwise known as creating an ISO image “dd” can be used.     1) Facebook is not just habit-forming but productivity disguised as addiction – take a few minutes each day to scroll through and visit: see what your friends and acquaintances are doing and what they are broadcasting. Who knows, you might actually learn a thing or two (especially if your friends are more progressive than you). Try to provide encouraging, value-added comments regularly. According to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, on order to reach Self-Actualization there are four components that must be fulfilled first. Esteem, Social, Safety and Physiological Needs. Facebook is a great venue to help fulfill a person social needs. It gives you an opening to so many people you cannot always have physical contact with. Use Facebook birthday reminders weekly (to send well wishes or to mail a virtual bday gift) and try to visit a friend’s Facebook page before meeting up with him/her so that you can be knowledgeable about their family and personal matters ahead of your visit — they will be highly impressed (or even shocked), and the visit will be more rewarding and at the very least, less embarrassing (Don’t forget to use your FB app on your iPhone).

    2) Don’t just close the browser window, broadcast it. When you see an article that you like, don’t just close your browser when done or bookmark on your computer – bookmark the article and share your thoughts with others, using Facebook, Twitter, Del.icio.us or Digg. By sharing articles that you find interesting, you are also creating a profile for yourself so that the internet can better learn about you and better cater to your specific needs as well as to the needs of others within the network. Trust me — the more the Web knows you, the less you’ll have to do.

    3) RSS means one day your own individualized internet. Consider signing up for an RSS feed. As the web is evolving, we no longer need to actively search online for information regularly. The information that we will enjoy reading should come find us — all a part of smarter, more tailored internet.

    4) Podcasting is not Dead — it’s a sleeping bear. This topic dovetails nicely with RSS. What is a podcast — piece of audio or video content that is delivered by an RSS feed which can be downloaded automatically to your iPod. If you listen to your iPod while commuting on a bus/train or when walking, consider signing up for a podcast to some of your favorite talk shows — I personally, like to listen to NPR. Then everyday, just sync up your iPod and you automatically have your programming downloaded and ready to go.

    5) Because other people already know and knowledge sharing should be free. Before doing something new or something you are not too familiar with, go online, check Ehow or Ask.com to read about how other people have conducted the same tasks. Instructions written by layman and critiqued and enhanced by the general public are normally more readable and relevant than instructions provided in sterile textbooks or instruction manuals. If you have a skill or experience doing something, no matter how mundane, consider sharing it on these social media sites also. You will be adding on to your profile (remember letting the internet know that you are actually a quasi-expert in something relevant) while helping others all across the globe live a fuller, richer life.

    6) Again nice dovetail to info sharing. YouTube is not just about videos of your children on summer break or the latest music videos. It’s Ehow on steroids or just a more visual search engine than Google. That’s right — YouTube is not just music videos, entertainment and family videos. YouTube and other video-sharing sites provides a wide array of practical and helpful instructions and tutorials from how to install hardwood flooring to how to do your income taxes. It’s fun, free, amusing and the info is more likely to stick and sink in, because now you’re taping into audio, visual and perhaps even tactile.

    7) Don’t scrape your knee when someone has already taken the fall. If you have a specific or broad question to ask (that are not too personal), don’t just ask a relative or a friend in a silo, consider going social and tapping into the vast network of advice seekers and advice givers on Ask Yahoo or Ask.com. That way, everyone gets to see your question (You’re anonymous except your Avatar, of course), and everyone gets to chime in. Ask a question about any topic you can think of. How to make bread with yeast, input on what school you want to go to. You have at your finger tips the answers from millions of people who may have done the same things themselves

    8) Cloud Computing means we’re no longer operating from Earth. Instead of working exclusively from your desktop in a silo or even in a company network, upload some of your collaboration documents on Google Docs, Box.net or other web-based content management vendors. This portal is ideal if you are collaborating as a team. Also it’s cheaper and more efficient that having to purchase additional computers, software, than having to manage the content internally. In terms of email, Cloud Computing will be welcomed by your clients since you can send a link to the document instead of an attachment — reducing file size and enhancing viewing restrictions and security. Desktop computing is metro. Cloud computing no longer a dream.

    9) Consider slipping on Second Life, so that you can Shine in Real Life. The options for learning, observing, collaborating and simulating on Second Life is limitless and in many ways, life-like. Second life allows you to explore, inquire, and learn so much about yourself, your teammates or whatever you set your mind to, that eventually, Second Life will replace many things we do in real life, and in the age of traffic and environmental impact, that’s a good thing. Second Life also is very merciful and forgiving. If you’ve just woken up, you always look fresh and your clothes sharp and pressed. If you make a mistake, you won’t go broke, get in a fight or go to jail. If you’re lonely or feel footloose, but you have a ton of stuff to do, SL allows you to cook, do homework, laundry and walk the dog, all while your Avatar is living it up large in some beach resort in Bali sipping Mai Tai Highs — and better yet, you’ll be able to save your pennies to purchase something more everlasting in Real Life. You can also use this method to rename the folder just in case you don’t want to delete it.

    How To Plan Your Link Building Campaign

    Despite being in the era of personalization and geo-location in search, one of the most important factors of developing and securing top search engine positions are the correct utilization of “words” and the number of inbound links pointing to your site. Exactly, it’s not about internal linking structure, keyword density, or the presence or absence of meta tags – it’s about getting websites to link to yours and writing quality content with optimized text. While those mentioned are still important, they are not the ones that will get you ranking high on the SERPs. So how do you plan and organize your link building campaign? This is what we will be focusing on this article.

    Link building hasn’t really changed much over the past and it probably won’t, any sooner either. It involves getting other Web sites to link to your site. Having the right mindset and a little bit of creativity, is what will separate the high-rankers from the low or non-rankers at all.

    In the eyes of search engines, what matters most are both the quality and quantity of recommendations (links) your website receives. It’s not about making sure your site is worth a link, but rather, it’s about going out and getting them. Once you understand this concept, we are now ready to look at a few basic link building tactics, that you can (or should) deploy.

    Write and Submit Press Releases Regularly: You very well might have the next big thing since Google or that next amazing product that will leave iPhone to the dust, however, if no one knows about it then you’re pretty much hiding it in a bunker. One way to spread the word is through the use of press releases. If you are not yet familiar with this concept, either Google it, or stay tuned for my next post which will run you through the basics of writing and submitting press releases.

    If you already know what I am talking about, then build a working list of established media outlets and bloggers, and grab their attention (politely) through every means possible, including on social networks. Make it a point to send out press releases regularly, to your list directly via email or using free services such as Free Press Release, FPRCenter, or PRLog.org. Once you get the attention, sites will start linking to yours naturally.

    Become a Guest Blogger: One of the easiest ways to get attention on the blogosphere, regardless of the niche you are in, is to work for free . I know that this idea might go against every single rule in your book, but the value of doing something (which in itself is extremely valuable) for someone else works, and it works very well indeed. Being a guest blogger has the opportunity to build a viable relationship with an audience that is not their own. Pursue to be a guest blogger a few times, if only to test the waters. Identify blogs which you think your message can be valuable to and offer to share your expertise in exchange for a link or even some form of advertising. Take the idea of guest blogging by going one step further and recruit your own guest bloggers – you’ll be amazed at what kind of promotional effort people can put in on your behalf.

    Share Your Insights Through Commenting: One of my favorite activities is writing comments on blogs that I find interesting, while hopping around the blogosphere. While the traffic that commenting sends is not the best for providing conversions, the benefit of course is that you are identified as a participant in a conversation, which positively impacts your future link building prospects. If by chance the blog you leave a comment on uses “follow” links instead of “no-follow” links, all the better for your link building efforts.

    A suggestion to everyone. Commenting, when done properly, is a powerful tactic not only to build links, drive traffic but most importantly gain credibility. Do not SPAM and please leave meaning comments. Remember that if it is the first time you are leaving a comment on someone’s blog, the owner will most likely have their flags waving all over the place and verify if your comment is useful or not. If you get tagged as a “blah” commenter, you will never get a comment approved on that blog again. Great info, nice post, thanks for sharing, thumbs up, and the sorts are NOT comments. Take me as an example, I only approve this kind of Tweets from someone who already has given their support or meaningful comment before on my blog.

    Create Authority Documents and Share Socially: An authority document is one that people look to for guidance on a) how to do something, b) how to do something better, or c) Tutorials. As I said before, having something great will not drive people automatically to your site on its own merit. You must share that information through an active network of friends and colleagues to make it stick in the Web’s sphere of influence. This is one of the reasons why I make it a point to spend time on social sites, and micro-blogging communities like Twitter and social networks like Facebook. These are opportunities where one can share their ideas and their content. Remember that authority does not happen overnight. Develop one good authority document each month and, build out your social profile and share your content on social networks as much as possible.

    Submit Articles On High Ranking Article Directories: Obvious? Well you might have guessed that this is just what I am doing right now. Sumitting artcile to high authority article directories such as ArticlesBase, is definitely one way to gain exposure and credibility. If your articles are published, you get the chance to sign your articles with a compelling resource or bio box. It is here where you should take advantage and share links to your site. Be craeful when using this feature though because many directories limit the number of links you can use.
